Our Oracle Databases are growing quickly so our backup time frames are going to be to small. I was looking for a online backup concept some times ago but now I have started to plan a backup solution based on RMAN.
At the moment I am not sure if I should build up a incremental based setup or if I should create a pure daily online full backup.
Although I have to excessive test the new backup method and do a lot of test restores
I think when I have finished and tested the script I will upload it here.

In November we’ve got a new project to host. In our term the project is called “Queen”. So what is it? First, let me list some of the technical components.
- As base system I have installed Oracle Enterprise Server 5.1 because as database engine oracle is used.
- Oracle 10g Standard Edition 10.2.0.4
- Apache an Php5 from source – yes this is a webapplication project
- some extensions to Apache and Php
- Berkeley Energy Plus
- Google SketchUp
As you can see in the software list, this project aims to be an energy simulation software for facility management. We are “only” hosting this project, but I am really interessted in the first pirctures. I hope I could paste someones here.
